Part time Peekskill resident Lisa Gutkin is thrilled to return to the Beanrunner with a program featuring Lisa on violin, tenor guitar and voice, bassist extraordinaire Gilad Ephrat, and special guests from the extended table that they’ve been sharing since Gilad arrived in the US this summer.
Gilad Ephrat is an internationally acclaimed bassist and composer. Celebrated for his distinctive sound that blends classical, jazz, and global folk, his work has been honored worldwide. Gilad is a multiple award-winner in the prestigious John Lennon International Songwriting Contest, and he has had the honor of performing for royalty at the iconic Royal Albert Hall in London.
I am presenting my show “Fiddling Around the World” at the Croton Free Library. I am really excited to pull out some Swedish, Italian, Argentinian Tango, And Japanese melodies that I’ve played with various bands over the years. It’s amazing how the violin travels!
I met Sue the last time we played at Music at the Ridge and we hit it off so well that we decided to play another double bill. She is a lovely songwriter and great storyteller - come see us both!
Wow - I haven’t played a solo show in NYC in over 10 years! I’m so proud to be part of this very long standing music and activist coffeehouse. I will definitely do What Is This World Gonna Do, the song I recorded with Fred Gillen.
And I love that I can walk there from my apartment in the village!
