Edison Public Library - solo Klezmer Concert

Lisa Gutkin plays klezmer (the music of the Ashkenazy Jews of Eastern Europe) with a nod to her grandparents and a creativity born from her days as a NYC freelance musician. Tantsn & Shpringen (Dancing and Jumping) is Lisa Gutkin’s Solo Concert in Klezmer is a lyrical and vivacious program and features Lisa on violin, voice and tenor guitar, and includes doynas (free metered, highly ornamented pieces), freylekhn (dance tunes), and songs in English and Yiddish.
