See the Klezmatics, live at the Auer Festival in Veszprém, Hungary!
The New York-based "Klezmatics" is a superstar band with the achievement of being the only Grammy award-winning klezmer band in the world. From Carnegie Hall, to the world's most famous concert halls, to the most prestigious international festivals, they have been performed everywhere in the past 30 years. Their work has been honored by guest artists such as Itzhak Perlman.
The result of their pioneering work is that klezmer, which was originally a unique music of Central European Judaism, has become popular all over the world. In addition to preserving the tradition and adding new colors to the genre, the Klezmatics can also call their music, "world-music", with Balkan, Latin, and African rhythms as influences found in their style.
Their performance at the Auer festival will illuminate what music that could be heard from the world-famous violin teacher, and conductor, Lipó Auer.
